Wisdom is two teeth closer

I got both my wisdom teeth out! Ouchy and not much fun…altho i did like being sedated…the anaesthesiest (need spell checker there ha) couldn’t find my veins and had to poke around a bit to find one which sucked, for $350 you’d think he’d get it right first go! I’ve got stitches inside my mouth on both sides, i can’t really tell whats going on there but it feels like my cheeks have been stiched to my gums….very weird feeling. I made this awesome contraption out of an old bandana and a ice pack made for an ankle sprain that kept my cheeks cool enough not to swell heaps. But then i took it off and today i look like a bowling ball!

Anyhoo now I can only eat much and liquids and icky stuff until i heal. I didn’t think the painkillers were working very well but Andy tells me 30mg of codeine is a lot and it probably is working…
I spent the night at my parents place where my mum looked after me while Andy took the night off, he probably had a great time without me bugging him for once! Next day Mal looked after me and helped me bake a tea cake which turned out really nicely. After all that relaxing and watching tv, Andy came to pick me up and when we got home he made me eggs and baked beans.

What we’ve been upto lately

Well hello there, its been a while since I’ve posted properly so here’s a quick run down on the latest events:

We went out to dinner with Simmy and Jonathon on Friday and purchased an Entertainment Book for 2007 off them, its a fantastic little discount book which has pretty much already paid for itself. We went to a nice little Italian restaurant called Michelangelos in Carlingford Court where the one woman service was fantastic and made up for the rest of her staff which were pretty ordinary. We asked for a takeaway menu and got one with onions all over it. Gross!

On Tuesday we met Andrea for steak dinner at the Pennant Hills Inn. Rhyl was off in Melbourne or something snobbing us :p The steak was thicker this time around which was good.

On Wednesday we couldn’t be bothered cooking so we had pizza hut pizza, used a coupon which let us have two pizzas for 7.95.

On Thursday I went shopping at Parra with Mal (found some spiffy boots for $14, should be good for a few wears and a nice pair of woollen fingerless elbow length gloves) while Andy had fun on his own at home after which the family went out to dinner at another Italian restaurant called Belmontes in Baulkham Hills (tonnes better than the Belmontes in Penno).

On the Friday after that we were feeling lazy so we used our entertainment book at "Il Nidos" on Terminus Street near Towers which is guess what? An italian place! We have totally overdosed on italian and pizza which is ok because the Italian festival is on in Sydney right now but yeah…no more pizza/pasta for a while please. We tried taking photos we really did (ok well I did) but were a tiny bit too tipsy to get anything web worthy…

Saturday was our day off, we hung out and went plant shopping at Hargraves Nursery (50% off all plants over $14), Andy got a dwarf lemon tree and mandarin tree to put on the balcony, we also got some Basil and Coriander which is my baby, everybody says they will die within the next few weeks but you never know right?!  I ended up getting a really nasty splotches all over my face and arms and neck after we got home from walking through all those weird plants. That night we played poker with Andi and Rhyl at their place (had pizza for dinner hehe…) Andy’s taken a few videos i’m not sure what he’s done with them.

Sunday I worked at Myer while Andy hung out and cleaned the apartment a bit and did the washing, we met for lunch (A potato for Andy, rice, mongolian beef and asian style veggies for me) which was nice. Dinner was some Subway from the place across the road, they’re really very nice people there.

And today we have Monday…basically just worked our butts off and came home for a nice relaxing evening with Burritos courtesy of Andy.

Wow that was a huge backlog of events….tomorrow who knows what will happen, perhaps its my turn to cook? Did I mention the time I made a nice pork curry/soup thing? Twas awesome. Anyhoo stay tuned for more!

Updatin

Hey hey everybody,

Isn’t Andy a good boy for posting twice in a row? If he gets that job he mentioned below he’ll officially earn more than me which he kinda already did but that’s not counting my time at Myer…

Anyhoo I’m just posting to let you know i’ve put up the pics of our Mothers Day dinner at Canley Vale which turned out pretty shockingly. It’s got to be bad when you need to go get your own napkins, chopsticks and glasses from the table next to us cos the waiters kept forgetting to bring them…they didnt get us rice til the third dish came around, the table next to us got tea before us despite us being there before them….oh and we didnt get one meal so we asked about it ages later and got the response "we’re out of pork"….funny thing was it was the second place we went to that night cos the service at the first place was so horrible we left in disgust! Hehe the moral of the story is never go to Canley Vale on Mothers Day but any other day it’s great (go for the mud crabs). You can check the pics out in our "Family Dinner Album"

  • I started to write this once before but you know me and computers I lost it somewhere. So I’ll start again. I never know where to write to you on this web site. Dad and I have just come home from Adelaide. Dad saw a Doctor about the Gastric Surgery he is to have. He sees the Specialist this Monday. There was a gap to pay with Private Health, Uncle Trevor has offered (insisted) on paying for the gap, no discussions and no paying back. That has been a huge relief of Dads mind. That would have been the only reason he couldn’t have had it done. While Adelaide we went a saw the Solicitor about my money, they are still farting around, he keeps promising it wont be long. One day you will get a shock when you get a cheque in the mail. Dont hold your breath yet. But it is coming. Buy the time you have to buy a house you should have it.
I’m still not working the Occupational Physician has written that I will never return to do Ancillary work ever. And if they want me to work at the hospital the work has to go though him. It sounds as though they may giving me a payout, which wouldn’t be much, but I might have to take it. I see my case worker at the hospital this afternoon. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Aunty Vida is getting excited, Alison has only 6 weeks to go before her baby is due. Alison and Ben hope to move back to Adelaide from Canberra in the near future.
Aunty Virginia is recovering well from her op, they think they have all the cancer. She is a tough old girl, I can’t wait to go to Brisbane to stay with her and have a holiday.
Poor Mocuite is not doing to well on Tuesday night she had 4 fall in her unit, she is okay, but is black and blue, no broken bones thank goodness. She really is aging fast now. But still looks better than a lot of other women her age.
Michael and Kates house is progressing well in Williamstown, the roof and windows are up, now they are waiting for the brickies .
The computers is telling me it is going to disconnect so I better stop Luv ya Mum

Promotion Wispers…

Hello Hello Hello,

I had an interesting discussion with my store manager today. He was going off to Lidcombe to organize next financial years budget with all the company big wigs and wanted to know if I’d be interested in a particular promotion.

Primary differences from my current role include:
-12k more a year.
-3 hours less work per week.
-I’d have an assistant/someone to mentor.
-Going from a wage to salary

Naturally I said I was interested. Not too bad seeing as I haven’t been there for 3 months yet, and they have a 6month probation period.

It will be interesting to see what is actually in the final job proposal compared to what his baited/indicated me with.

Will keep you posted;)

Andy.

P.S. Apparently ppl high up (regional manager and above) in the company know who I am, and have been talking about Andy Carter. I’m choosing to take that as a compliment. Teeheehee.

Workin hard

Hi everybody!

Hows it all been? I have been busy as a beaver these last few weeks. stocktake week was huge, over 70hours and $365 in tax later, i was glad it was over!

Been enjoying my time as a counterstrike administrator. Actaully in the middle of ruling a player submitted demo when sumali put me in a headlock and demanded that i blogged right now. Most ppl wont see this paragraph as sumali will probalby edit it out…

Sumali has been working weekends at myers and i have hardly had a chance to see her. I had lunch with her on sunday which was double sweet because it was the bestest bike riding weather…

Ooh Andi and Ryle have started joining us for $5 steak night at the local pub. I wonder if sumali has uploaded the pics yet… anyways, i was able to give andi back her potter dvds, and arrange the next poker night. Speaking of which, i need to arrange with andi for them to host the next one as sumali friends have abandoned us this time…

anyways, i gots to get back to these demos! have fun everybody!

Andy

  • I didn’t know where to write this note, if its in the wrong place you will have to tell me the right place. Andy I lost the chuzzle game on our computer, you know me when it comes to computers I am lethal. I tried to get instructions on how to play the game properly, and I must of done something wrong, it keeps telling me “buy now”. And wont let me play, can you help me or not. I play the game a lot its the only thing that helps me pass the day. Im still not working, I think the Occupational Physician is sending me to a Neurosurgeon, in Victoria, I find out on the 23 of May. Bye for now luv ya both. xxxx

Smily still on her lonesome

Well these days have been long ones lately…Andy’s been busy with the stocktake long hours, Sumali has been doing something or other, besides the pizza for dinner we all had on Thurdsay night its really been a very lonely few days. I’m writing this as Andy spends his time at work (he’s there til midnight tonight)…I think i’ll spend some time putting up Annabelle’s photos from our first poker night. Check out our poker nights album to see all the pics.

In other news I used my menu booklet thingy to order a pad thai from the "Gail Thai" place near Thornleigh and then when i went to pick it up they didnt have my order so they made a new one for me. Anyways i came home and munched away happily on my pad thai thinking that this was the first time my favourite thai place has stuffed an order up when i got a call from the thai place…."we have your beef pad thai here, we were just wondering when you were coming in to pick it up?" So i was like "wha? i already picked it up but it wasn’t beef it had prawns in it" and she was like "oh ok just checking you got your order"….then it twigged. I checked the booklet and turns out i’d had it open in such a way that I confused one menu for another and i’d actually ordered from "Pimarn Thai" near Pennant Hills….I feel massively bad about it so i’m going to go there for dinner sometime next week and give them a tip about the same as a pad thai would cost….If anybody wants to join me you’re more than welcome to!

Just spoke to Nigel on the phone, he’s having lots of fun with his girls Porridge and Petal (love those names!) and offending me in general :)

p.s. I found an interesting flash "map of religion" online which I found very educational, it goes through 5,000 years of religion in 90 seconds:

Smily on her lonesome

This is what happens when i’m left alone for too long…Check out some extreme parallel parking:

New slideshow in the sidepanel

Does everybody like the little slideshow on the sidepanel? The pics coming from our picasa web albums photo albums which after all the research into online photo management websites has come out equal best along with Flickr. If anybody out there wants to put up their own album, Picasa Web Albums is nice and so is Flickr, let us know your username so we can add you as a friend.

Coming up in the next few weeks Sumali has a wisdom tooth removal and we drive up to Patonga Views on the first weekend of June, should be fun.
