Weekend Work

It was too windy to work on the gutters this weekend, so we diverted our energy else where…

IMG_7798 We picked up the swinging chair from Andrew and Mala’s place and installed in our tree!

IMG_7799 Plus we got the cold water hooked up to the vanity!

IMG_7800 We also bought a heap of stuff for our new kittens which are nearly ready to leave the litter!

  • oh man, that sink is fancy schmancy! nice to see the place coming along. surprised that you are getting kitties too! very cool.

as a cat owner myself, i can recommend that you guys use Breeders Choice for litter. apparently it’s flushable, which helps with getting rid of #2s. you can buy a 35litre bag of it for $20 at Aussie Pet Supplies [183 Parramatta Rd, Haberfield] which is pretty good value considering they sell the same brand at Coles/Woolies for $20 but only a 20litre bag.

i sound like a crazy cat lady now so i’m going to stop talking.

  • We’ve changed what we’re going to name them cos Sugar and Spice just wasn’t working and didn’t really roll of the tongue. We ended up making them Jelly and Jam, we’re absolutely loving them, look fwd to a lot of posts on them!

Rhea I plan on becoming that crazy old cat lady one day, nothing wrong with crazy…I need to get some cat practice in.
Haberfields a bit far away, is it close to you? Maybe we should work out some kind of kitty litter deal between the two of us. Speaking of bargains we were going to buy a $60 scratching post at the pet store but luckily we decided to wait and shop around. Aldi had/has them on special for $20 so that was an awesome saving. Oh and that pink hand toy thing really sucks, they don’t react to it at all.

Lens Filter from Hell?

So we woke up to this eerie orange glow outside our window and the first thing I thought of was ‘bushfire!’ but it was just a very pretty dust storm and lucky for us we had all our doors and windows closed unlike some people (fellow renovators) who woke up covered in dust.

You know I never realised how flimsy those curtains are…

Salamander Bay

Went to Salamander Bay with the family for a sort of long weekend, we took the motorbike up and stayed at the Oaks Pacific Blue Resort which was really cool.

IMG_4651 IMG_4677 We stayed in a 3 bedroom townhouse which had a private plunge pool although the entire resort was surrounded by a man made lagoon with little spas and beaches around it, we’d highly recommend staying there if you ever go up near Port Stephens.

We also hung out at the beach and found an awesome beach with dogs that chewy would have loved.

IMG_4692 IMG_4650

The place was really very comfortable, it had laundry stuff so we could wash our towels during the day. Me and Andy got the bedroom with the TV and balcony which was nice. IMG_4693 IMG_4674

We had buffet dinner there the first night which wasn’t as nice as it should have been because they stopped making food while we were there and we had to keep asking for stuff and the dessert was all gone by the time we got to it. Word to the wise, never arrive late to a buffet.

We took Putty Road on the way home which had heaps of motorbike danger signs, it’s nice and windy so it’s popular with the bike hoons. Thanks goes to Mala and Andrew for the awesome short break from work (and working on the house).

Little Miss Mia’s first trip to Sydney

It was actually a few weeks ago but little miss Mia Ivy came to see us (and Jojo and Dana too!) and we never ended up taking any pics with our camera. Joanne has been kind enough to send us her photos to share with you all on our blog. Enjoy:

Mia is so welcome to come back any time, everybody loved her (and Jojo and Dana).

Got our metal fascia cover and gutter. 48m of each. We have about 30m of cover up so far, including most of the hard bits, so the rest should go up quickly.

Sky High

We got a big ladder to help us paint and stuff around the house. Its got adjustable legs for use on uneven ground. Works an absolute treat!

1 Comments:

  • Very clever ladder – if you look a few posts later you’ll notice Khris finished the rest of the painting on that side. I’m surprised chewy doesn’t have more paint on him…
