Friday Morning

Goood Morning ppl,

Another Friday morning already! Amazing! Time really is flying! Must be having fun!

Plans for this weekend… Pay for billiards table… finish setting up the apartment…. bring the last of Sumali’s furniture from her parents place… that’s the stuff out of the ordinary!

Ooh, my assistant has got the job at Parramatta, but the area manager won’t approve it until he trains a new person in the receivable section of the store. I’m getting a new assistant which is sweet. He’s guy who has been in the receivable section for about a year now, his my age, married, got a kid. Much more mature and responsible. I think we’ll make some really good progress!

Well its 5:30am now, I had best get some brekkie and head off to work!

  • Dad looks great in the beanie you got him, he has worn it everyday since receiving it. His arm is slowly getting better, but his car is getting worse. Hopefully nothing else will go wrong with it. Once the Harmonic Balance and a few more new tyres the 4wd should be good as new.
Wayne was in Bordertown this weekend so sell some more tractor gear. They still have’nt had anyone look at the house. Although the guy that has the junk place across the road from the swimming pool still wants to buy it. But if he buys it no one will want to buy the house.
Nothing much more has changed, the little kittens are so cute especially the grey one.
    Buy for now, luv ya.

  • oooh! Peppy had her kittens?!?! how many?!?!

    Comment by andy — September 2, 2007 @ 6:10 pm

  • Hi I didn’t know you could comment on my comment. Peppy had 3 kittens, 2 Boys. The second kitten was breech, got stuck coming out, so I had to pull it out. I tried resus on it but it was dead, so I flushed it down the toilet. The grey one is a little smaller than the black and white one, may be because he was born a day later. Dad goes into hospital next Wed 12th and the operation on the 13th. We will be staying in Adelaide for a week or so, I hope to take some holidays in a weeks time. Catch you later. luv ya

OMG, long time no blog… Again!

Hello Hello,

Sorry guys, i have been tardy again with the posting. Last time i said to myself i’d never let it go two days without blogging. Ha…

Annnyways, lets see…. Ooh, work is heaps different now, the guy who interviewed and hired me has been forced to resign… The business still wasn’t making budget so…. Lol must make sure i never become a branch manager…. Also my assistant never got his CPM role, so now his go to an interview to be transfered to the Parramatta branch. So sad, too bad :-p Also, the plumbing warehouse dude has also applied to be transfered the Marrylands  store. This is a shame as he’s a good worker and friend. But to be fair, marry lands is walking distance to his home, and he’d get paid the same for a lot less physical work….

I’m still doing well at my work, the area manager has been spending a lot of time at my store as we have been without senior management. He offered me a position in Darwin to work for 2 weeks as they are going to be in need of an experianced branch assistant up there in October. I’m not really right for that as i have spent less than 10minute on the front counter and its a purely plumbing store, so insteading of  drowning i turned it down. A shame, as i could have caught up with Ray with free travel and accommodation, but yeah still nice to be offered…

Me and smily are alone! our room mate has moved out! we have been a bit bad… Today we put a deposit on a $3998.00 billiard table at B&B Billards… We haggled them down to $3600 and upgraded accessory pack… We’ll get it delivered within two weeks… I know, were bad… Its flash as… Just uploaded a pic of the style. We are getting a 7′ table, so it’ll have 4 legs, not 6, burgandy felt and dark walnut stain. Its the most upmarket 7′ table they make…

Ordered Table

Okay, time for bed! chat latter peeps!

Ray Pics

Just realised I forgot to link to pics of Ray’s visit, so i’ve added another album down the side called "Friends".

Birthday recovery and break-ins

Hello :) First of all thanks to everybody who wished me a happy birthday in one way or another, it was really weird, some ppl phoned or sms’d, some ppl left comments on this blog, others left comments/items in facebook, (hehe Jojo sent me a hippo). I have to say i’ve never felt so in touch with technology before!

Speaking of technology, Andy got me an awesomely beautiful computer case, its really beautiful and i love it, i’ll post a picture of it when i get home (i’m writing this at work). He also got me a snazzy power supply and my parents got me a graphics card so Andy ended up pulling my computer apart and we’re using my old case for the file server or something and he left me to put my computer together again with the new bits. Poor Annabelle came home to see our mess everywhere and the next day her dad came around to help her get some stuff. He always only sees our apartment when its messy! Speaking of Annabelle she’ll be staying for an extra week while the tenant living where she’s moving to moves out.

mybirthday4.jpgWe went to Ocean Seafood Restaurant in the piazza at Towers which was nice, I got a strange meal with cubes of feta cheese in the nice and prawns and peeled carrots…it sounds awful but it tasted great, everybody enjoyed their meals except my dad but he got the fish and fish is usually yucky. Andy had the fish and chips liked. My mum made a really nice cake with marshmallow cream and rose petals, it looked like a gigantic edible porcupine.

On a serious note the garage downstairs where we keep the car and motorbike got broken into and 5 cars had their windows smashed in. It was pretty shocking. Apparently somebody left the front door open so anybody could’ve gotten in. Too bad the building is so well insulated against noise or we might’ve heard something. I’ve always parked my car inside the garage assuming its safer in there but i guess not…I guess living next to a train station increases the incidence of ferals mooching around.

News Flash! News Flash!

Stop The Press!

Sumali has found her cooking niche! She brought some frozen chinese stuff, and used the steamer Dana bought us for christmas and it was aaaawesome!

  • Great to hear you tried the steamer, you will be supprised how much food you can steam, and how good it can taste. It will be a lot cheaper if you cook your meals at home, instead of going out. I have started working at the primary school. I love it there are a few jobs I can’t do because of the pain. But mostly everything is okay. Bye for now luv ya, Dana

  • hehe yeah, we’re trying…i bought a whole bunch of spices on the weekend to try them out and see what happens.

We finally made it to craft hobbies today, they didn’t have dvds but they had a lot of books. Some were like a collection of tutorials for particular quilts and some were more general like a book on doing different borders. What kind of stuff do you do at the primary school?

Update From Syd!

Hello Hello!

Sorry, long time no blog….

Smily and myself have had a biiiig weekend. first off…. omg, we can’t even remember what we did on friday… ooh! yes, we went and saw knocked up at castle towers. wasn’t a bad flick, probably the best it could have been. lots of well used swearing. it all had a place which was impressive going by the quantity… on saturday morning we went to clean my office at silverwater, and put up some shelves. all went well.

Then we went to ikea at Rhodes. (bout 10mins from silverwater) for lunch, they have $1 hotdogs which is sweet as… We bought the peanut table we originally wanted, the sexy red one. Ooh Sumali did some awesome driving, first off there was red light, so she stoped, then after about 30 seconds, she started going again. even tho it was still red… quite funny/scary… its okay, the other traffic stopped for her… plus i was like "Smily! Red Light! Red Light!" theeeen when trying to find a park at Ikea, she was looking off to the side, scoping for a park….. driving not looking fwd… But it was okay i was there to say "Smily! Car! Car!!" good fun…

Saturday arvo/night, we set up the peanut table, and totally rearranged the living room. Anna-Belle is going to get a shock when she comes home…. We have pics and smily will upload them soon. I’m getting a cheap monitor of a work mate that we’ll be using to have a go with Ubuntu(linux). That has a home on the white peanut table waiting for it.

Today we were going to go buy an awesome fishbowl to go on the red peanut table, but they aren’t open after relocating till the 18th of August. We’ll just have to wait till then!

Anyways, my work has been great. I’m all trained up now, I know what has to be done. I basically need two assistants to get on top of the job within 6 months… But my current assistant is friggin useless. I created a task sheet for him to complete each day, but his so far his found ways to avoid doing his job (like volunteering to go off on deliveries and shit like that). I’ll give him another week to pull his head in… Douchbag…

Smily is making a curry/stew thing now… which is great because its masking the smell from this afternoon… she put popcorn in the microwave for 4mins, instead of 2mins to try and pop those last few corns that just wont pop… The place was filled with smoke and smells pretty bad several hours after the fact… She is trying really hard which is all that matters to me :)

Toodles for now!

Andy

  • Hi! guys as you can see I have read your new entry. Good to hear things are going okay. What is a peanut table? Never heard of it. It was great to have Jo home on the weekend. I miss not having you two here. As soon as I can we will be moving. All depends on the house renovations, which I’m having difficulty doing my arms, elbows and hands are in cronic pain all the time. To think it’s only going to get worse really is a bummer. Shit happens.
    Bye for now, luv ya.

  • I am a bit concerned about Sumali’s driving but more concerning was the fact that i was reading this story while at work so i was sitting here in my office laughing my head off. people here may be questioning my sanity.
We now have our cat’s in ardrossan and they seem to be happy enough, they are desperate to go outside, will give them another couple of days before letting them out.

  • Yea…..this time i was going to turn the radio on at the same time as talking to andy and for some reason my brain made me hit the accelerator instead. If it helps I have gotten much better with those red light doodats…

That curry/stew thing turned out ok-ish. Turns out you can’t put cream into a curry it curdles. I have a fix for it tho, take all the meat out, rinse it under water and chuck it back in and start from scratch……

  • oh smily that is so cute, curry you need coconut milk or cream, yummmmmm

Hello

Yeah we haven’t been posting that much lately…but here’s the latest: We’re contemplating leaving at the end of our lease but there isn’t much nice choices out there for us. Plus we like the fact that pizza hut, kfc and subway is a 5 minute walk away…and Bunnings and maccas being a 5 minute drive away. There’s a few places closer to where we work but they’re all pretty grubby….we’ll keep you posted anyhow.

In other news, Bordertown High School is on facebook now with Andy, Andrea, Jo and some other people i dont know on there. If anybody’s reading this that went to Btown High, go check it out.

The traffic seems to be getting worse and worse lately, there’s always an accident somewhere. Andy has awesome work hours and gets to miss out on all the fun. There’s a tonne of photos on our camera memory card I really have to get them up. We checked out some craft places for Dana but there really isn’t much around…there was one magazine that came with a dvd but Andy said Btown had those already. We never made it to hobbysew so probably this weekend. We’re also going to get shelves for Andy’s work on the weekend cos he’ll have the work ute for the weekend.

  • Hi! Thankyou for checking out the craft stores, don’t worry anymore. Sounds like you are very busy at work Andy. Sorry that you may have to move it’s a bummer moving all the time.
Rod’s okay to have his op on the 13th September. We will be going through all the panty cupboards this weekend, to get rid of all the thing that are not allowed to be eaten. He is on fluids for the 1st month after the op.
I don’t know have I’m going to do it, but I need to finish fixing the house, because I want to sell and move to Yorke Peninsula. Has Michael caught up with you, about Christmas, he and Kate would like to have a family Christmas at their new house. So if you are down for christmas that is where we will be.
Hope work isn’t getting you down to much.
    Luv Ya both, Dana.

the ancient art of eating

We walked to the chinese place in Pennant Hills on Friday night for a lovely dinner, we both love san chow bow (minced meat mix wrapped in lettuce leaves)

I’m free!

Hey everybody,

I’m writing this on my lunch break at work.  For those who don’t already know i’ve finally quit Myer! Woohoo! Working 7 days a week at times was getting a bit much and I felt that not being around on weekdays made me less efficient.

Hi Amila! Nice to see you visited the site (and left a comment in the shoutbox). We need to sort out that wireless router for Dad. Have you picked one yet?

Dana there’s a Craft Depot near our place, we’ll go check it out on the weekend.

Rhea just linked me to Kevin Rudds myspace account. Weird….Vote K-Rudd! That should get me some interesting comments…

Rays visit was fun, playing pool on Friday was fun when I beat Ray once. Shouldn’t have agreed to the rematch during which I was slaughtered…for dinner, driving a slightly tipsy Andy and Ray (ok Ray didnt seem drunk at all) to KFC was a dodgy experience. I have a feeling Andy was being extra crazy in the car just to freak me out beacause as soon as he got in front of the counter to order he was alright.

On the Saturday night I left the two boys to play on their own and went to Ribs and Rumbs Grill and Seafood in Gordon for Khristines birthday. They don’t seem to be reviewing too well over at eatability.com but our food was ok. The lamb chops that Mal got were the best, I loved the ribs i got but the steam was defintiely overcooked but I didn’t really mind. The steak knives were pretty crapola tho, didn’t cut through the steak very well at all. Overall the food wasn’t too bad and the ambience was warm and friendly, i’ll probably go again until I get that bad service people keep talking about.

Speaking of steaks, on Tuesday night instead of our usual steak night at the Pennant Hills Inn, Andy invited  Andrea and Rhyl around for a steak dinner at our place. It was fabulous, the Corn was delish and I didn’t mind the steamed vegetables too much. Thanks Andy for a lovely dinner.

Me and Mal went to the Trent Tree Marsh Beauty Boutique in Castle Hill on Thursday night to cash in our beaty vouchers that my Mum had given us for Christmas. I got a "Classique Indulgence – A combination of a Swedish Back Massage and a Classique Facial. Highly beneficial to skin, body and mind." It was really nice and relaxing (the massage was good) but it would have worked out to be $1 a minute and considering i was left alone for ten minutes (with the cucumbers on my eyes) i’m not sure if I would actually pay to repeat the experience…she gave me some samples which was nice.

Our lease expires in August, Annabelle will be leaving the week after it expires. The inspection went fine, apparently all the lady did was walk around. Anyways, back to work. Toodles!

  • Hi! Andy what is the minimum you want for the golf and cricket gear? How long was Raymond in Sydney for? You seem to be having yak weather there, we were suppose to get very strong winds etc but it wasn’t as bad as they thought it would be. Lots of rain though which is very good. Later when Sumali isn’t so busy I’ll get her to go to the quilting shop to see if they have any quilting magazines with DVD included.
I have finally got a date when I start at the Primary School, the second week of the third term. Last week in July. So that will be interesting I hope.
    Catch ya later, Luv ya.

  • Hiya Dana,
Umm, $50 for the cricket… and $150 for the golf gear, assuming it hasn’t gone rusty… Ray was here for 3 nights, , was meant to be 3 days, but he missed his flight, so it was only friday and saturday during the day. Lol yeah, weather hasn’t be the best, but i have wet weather gear so i dont mind. I’ll have to get smily to check out the quilting place on the weekend. we can do that now that shes finished at myer:) Awesome stuff bout the primary school, hope it works out well for you. Andy
